You may notice that even after you set your location to a specific city and proximity, you will see ads for properties or items that are located in other cities, sometimes even in different states or countries. This occurs because of the "All locations" feature. Posters can specify to have their listings posted to all cities, regardless of the actual location.

For example: a job that can be done remotely, a vacation home that anyone can rent, or a for sale item that can be shipped anywhere.

If this disturbs your browsing because you want to look in a specific area only, you can easily browse items in your area only by changing the sort option to "Distance". This will sort the listings so that items and properties that are physically close to your location will show first, before the all location listings.

(Note: This will still show the all locations top listings before the local free listings.)

Additionally, if browsing the Real Estate category: Choose the "Only Show Local Listings" filter option on the left side of the page. This will hide all "All Locations" listings that are not physically near you.
